Again, some good food from the Easynet and Ipanema Technologies "Killer Apps 2012" survey. To the question "How often is your data network utilized to its full network transmission capacity?" only 17% of the respondent said "regularly". It is occasionally the case for 45% and very infrequently for 26% of them. And still, a large proportion (82%) acknowledges performance issues for their business critical applications.
This clearly indicates that network bandwidth is not the only problem (or solution) to application performance. Because of the growing dynamicity and unpredictability of the traffic, getting full real-time control about how the network resource is shared among the many applications and users across the enterprise is a key requirement to drive the IT with maximum efficiency while guaranteeing performance and productivity. Full of emptiness? May be not, rather full and empty at the same time…
